i've come to the conclusion that most of the people who enter my life are inherently horrible. not all, but most. perhaps this is why i am sending myself to a place that is as far (figuratively) from my current environment as i can imagine. this is not a revelation, it's just a conclusion i reached awhile ago and have consciously decided to think more about it. perhaps it's what i get for growing up in NYC, but for some reason everyone i meet is just an awful human being. my male friends enjoy plotting the downfall of others (granted they don't hunt the innocent, but it's still an awful sport). my female friends dominate a parallel universe where all of the guys are ready to settle down and all of the girls hook up with guys and then don't call them. and then there are the people who "too busy" to even eat meals. i have this one friend who disappeared for like two months and anytime you call him, he's like "hey man, i'd love to see you but i'm really busy." too busy to eat? you're not a CEO. # Comments []

is there really any way to describe how great Oasis is? no... but suffice it to say that it was an excellent concert. they opened with Hello, closed with a cover of My Generation, and generally rocked the Beacon. it's 3 in the morning now so i'm in no way capable of being eloquent right now. uhhh.... oasis rules, goodnight. # Comments []

saw Aerosmith last night at PNC and ... as always, they were unfuckingbelievable. i've seen aerosmith 3 times, ben has seen them 6 times, and arielle has seen them 7 times, and all of us agreed, despite a relatively poor setlist (no Janie's Got a Gun, no Dream On, no Livin on the Edge), they actually sounded better than ever. Steven's voice and presence was fantastic, and Mr. Joe Fucking Perry remains the absolute coolest 52 year-old man on earth. Run DMC came out with Kid Rock for an encore performance of "Walk this Way." just an all-out, incredible show. next up in the Week of A Thousand Concerts... oasis # Comments []

vassar news: after spending a week thinking that i might be stuck going to NYU, i think i may finally have found a place to live in poughkeepsie. it's like a block from campus on college ave and i'd be living with other vassar students. more on this as it develops... # Comments []

holy minority hiring practices, batman! suddenly everyone who works VH1 is indian ('cept Shatner, and don't get me started on that one). you gotta love self-imposed network diversity policies. # Comments []
