saturday, august 24 2:34:45 AM posted by Blake Stuchin i'm not going to Vassar. so much for that idea. after several months of researching and applying, followed by many weeks of home-hunting, culminating in a few painful days in Poughkeepsie attempting to salvage a semester, my pseudo-two months as an accepted but not yet attending Vassar student are over before they ever began. i was on the phone for about 7 hours today talking with Rob, Matt, Peter, JKarr, and usual band of idiots to deal with Penn housing and i'm off to philly tomorrow morning to continue on this endless path. i used up my word quota on the phone today, so i have no ability to articulate my thoughts any further - i'm inarticulate and stupid. i will be a recharged human again in the morning. # Comments [] wednesday, august 21 10:43:34 AM posted by Blake Stuchin this just keeps getting more painfully complicated... went to vassar on monday and found the perfect house on college ave. the lady who's renting it said she wanted 24 hours to do some simple processing tasks, and i come home thinking that i have finally found a place to live in poughkeepsie. two days later i still haven't heard from her and then i get an email back basically saying "we've rented the house to a family, have a nice life." so now i'm almost entirely back to square one. i have t-minus 4 days to zero hour and i am pretty much out of ideas. the only reason i'm even bothering to record this right now is that if i somehow do manage to make it to vassar this fall, i'll try to look back on this experience and laugh. right now, though, i'm looking forward and getting a headache. # Comments [] monday, august 19 12:31:35 AM posted by Blake Stuchin I am now an X Games convert. It's like ... it's like Olympics on four pints of Mountain Dew. The announcers are my favorite part. A camera panned to a biker's girlfriend and the male announcer, mimicking a squeaky female voice goes "my boyfriend is sexy because he skates goooood." Then Tony Hawk did his thing and when they showed his wife, the male announcer again in the squeaky voice said "i love Tony, he's soooooo cool."
